NASSTRAC Announces 2010 Member of the Year Awards

MINNEAPOLIS, MN— NASSTRAC recently announced that Reid Thompson, executive director-provider management for Lenovo US, has been named the 2010 “NASSTRAC Member of the Year.” Each year, this honor is bestowed on an individual transportation executive who has demonstrated personal leadership, commitment, and dedication to the industry as well as to the association. NASSTRAC provides advocacy, education, provider relations, and networking for professionals involved in all areas of transportation, ranging from full truckload and LTL to containerization and global logistics.

“Reid has been an active leader in the association for several years, participating on the executive committee since 2004 and the education committee since 2006,” said Eric Morley, NASSTRAC’s current chairman and director of transportation at Best Buy Co. “Reid has made significant contributions as a leader of NASSTRAC that include accomplishments in engaging providers into the organization and strategic planning for our annual conference. He’s been a true asset to the organization.”

In addition, NASSTRAC announced that Martin Mantilla, vice president of business development for Special Dispatch of California, is the recipient of the 2010 “NASSTRAC Associate Member of the Year.” Each year, the association presents this award to an individual from the service provider community who has shown leadership, continued commitment to the industry, and support of NASSTRAC. Mantilla has been on the Carrier Advisory Council since 2008, has been active in engaging his employers in the organization, and also served on the 2009-10 Retail Task Force in helping to recruit new retail shippers into NASSTRAC.

Both awards were announced April 27 at NASSTRAC's Logistics Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Fla., where approximately 375 transportation decision-makers and providers gathered to network and discuss critical transportation issues in the industry.
