	NASSTRAC Announces 2007 Member of the Year Awards

	MINNEAPOLIS, MN—NASSTRAC recently announced that Brian Damiani, vice president of logistics for Simplified Logistics, has been named the 2007 “NASSTRAC Member of the Year.” Each year, this honor is awarded to an individual transportation or logistics professional who has demonstrated personal leadership, commitment, and dedication to the industry as well as to the association. NASSTRAC provides advocacy, education, provider relations, and networking for professionals involved in all areas of transportation, ranging from full truckload and LTL to containerization and global logistics. “Brian Damiani has been a pillar of our board, someone we can always count on to voice opinions and offer new ideas,” said Gail Rutkowski, NASSTRAC’s current president. “His activities involving membership and networking have helped NASSTRAC grow as an association. He has single-handedly taken on our extracurricular activities that made our meetings entertaining as well as educational.” Damiani has been an active member of NASSTRAC since 1999, and currently serves the chairperson of the professional interaction committee. He also has served as the association’s treasurer. In addition, NASSTRAC also announced that Rob Puleo, executive producer-corporate communications for Roadway, is the recipient of the 2007 “NASSTRAC Associate Member of the Year.” Each year, the association presents this award to an individual from the service provider community who has shown leadership, continued commitment to the industry, and support of NASSTRAC. For the past several years, Puleo has been instrumental in providing audio/visual and production support to NASSTRAC’s various conferences. “Rob has brought to NASSTRAC professionalism, creativity, and expertise in audio visual production, which has added so much value to our events, year after year,” said Rutkowski. Both awards, co-sponsored by Penton Media and Logistics Today magazine, were announced May 7 at NASSTRAC's Logistics Conference and Expo in Orlando, Fla.
