Diesel rose for a fourth straight week, rising 1.3 cents to $3.796 a gallon, the Department of Energy reported to NASSTRAC on Monday. Gasoline also rose for the fourth week, increasing 1.4 cents to $3.508, DOE said, following its weekly survey of filling stations. With the increase, diesel is now 14.1 cents below the same week last year, while gas is 20.3 cents under a year ago, according to DOE records. Trucking's main fuel has risen 14.8 cents in the past month, after falling 50 cents in 12 straight previous declines. Oil fell for the first time in five trading days Monday, declining 35 cents to settle at $89.78 a barrel, Bloomberg reported.
