New England Motor Freight, Inc. (NEMF), headquartered in Elizabeth, NJ has purchased a new facility in Toledo, Ohio. This will be the fourth Ohio terminal in the carrier’s network which also includes Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati. The terminal, presently undergoing an extensive renovation, is located at 1270 Matzinger Road, Toledo, OH. The terminal has 46 doors, an on-site maintenance shop and fuel. The company anticipates an early fall 2012 opening date. NEMF currently services the area out of a small leased facility as well as providing service to the area from its Cleveland location.

NEMF has also announced a new 76 door, long term leased facility with on-site maintenance shop and fuel is presently under construction in Hagerstown, MD. This will replace the company’s existing 34 door terminal in the area. The terminal will be located at Lot 6, Hunters Green Business Park, Hagerstown, MD and is planned to open in late 2012.
According to the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Connery, "The State of Ohio has been one of our fastest growing markets. This new terminal in Toledo will allow us to more efficiently service the Northwest portion of the State while also allowing us to push into the State of Michigan with direct service to the Detroit/Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area on a direct basis.”

Connery also added, "In Maryland, our existing facility was at capacity and this expanded terminal will allow us to continue to grow our business and provide our customers with an improved service product. It also provides a more favorable location at the crossroads of Interstates 70 and 81. This will enable more direct service to the State of West Virginia while also improving service into Northern Virginia where the company has terminals in Richmond and Roanoke."
