Driver Coercion Rule Finalized

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, December 08, 2015
FMCSA has issued a final Driver Coercion rule that will take effect on January 29, 2016. It prohibits carriers, shippers and brokers from coercing truck drivers to violate hours-of-service (HOS) and other safety regulations. Carriers, shippers and brokers are not required to monitor driver HOS compliance as part of the rule, and drivers are required to report incidents of driver coercion within 90 days. Violators of the rule can be fined up to $16,000 per incident. (Transport Topics)
